Open-access The development of professional competencies: an approximation of the university to the museums and archaeo-architectural sites

Abstract

The present study describes the experiences carried out to generate professional skills in museums, archaeo-architectural sites, in the Art History subject. The specific objectives are oriented to show how the teachers in training integrated the museums, and archaeo-architectural sites to plan their didactic intervention; identify the works, iconographic, architectural elements that would be included as resources for teaching and learning; to analyze the perceptions of future teachers regarding the professional skills developed during the tours carried out by the students. Through a mixed, descriptive investigation, the perception of the students in the development of competences, applied to 56 participants of the History and Social Sciences Pedagogy Career, was analyzed. In addition, a rubric, to evaluate the planning. The results reflect that the activities carried out at each moment (beginning, development, and closing), which included tours of museums, and archaeo-architectural sites, help to develop generic and specific skills in future teachers.
