Open-access Distance education, skills and competencies: theoretical analysis of the student profile

Abstract

The distance education system, from its structure, has contemplated the implementation of the necessary and precise tools to achieve that the student develops his learning in an autonomous and efficient way. On the other hand, the adoption and use of various technological tools, as well as different means of communication for educational purposes, has allowed it to be at the forefront with respect to more traditional models. This is how a series of factors that need to be consolidated to ensure a better performance from the various levels of the educational process arise, among them, digital competencies. That is why, under a qualitative approach and the collection of bibliographic information through scientific databases, nine writings were analyzed that allowed to find associations through clusters of keywords related to the subject and thus establish certain relationships between the skills of distance education and digital competencies of higher education students.
