Abstract
Dominican society has set interested in the Technical-Professional modality, which includes polytechnics and offers Technical and academic training with innovation and productivity perspective for students interested in leaving with an accredited Technical baccalaureate. This study aimed to analyze the challenges faced by the management team to improve academic performance in Secondary School students. There is a socio-educational interest because it is a subject with initiatives that were born from legal regulations and included commitments to improve, and with a background in research addressed from various contexts. The study was carried out under the mixed design with a sample of 28 members of management teams of the polytechnics of the Regional Education No. 14 Nagua. The Delphi Technique was used and as an instrument the questionnaire with two rounds of questions: open and closed, to collect qualitative and quantitative data. The analysis was carried out with the MAXQDA and SPSS software. The results presented graphically were explained, and it is concluded that individualism, demotivation, resistance to change of some teachers and students, the lack of qualified personnel and the ignorance of regulations, are some of the most outstanding challenges.
